45,000 Booth Level Officers BLOs across Odisha to conduct a door to door Special Intensive Revision

The Election Commission has deployed around 45,000 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Odisha to conduct a door-to-door Special Intensive Revision (SIR) survey of the electoral rolls beginning May 30, 2026.

Addressing ...mediapersons ahead of the exercise, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) R.S. Gopalan said that all preparatory work, including the printing of forms and training of BLOs, has been completed.

The CEO emphasized that officials have been directed to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll and no ineligible person is included. The survey aims to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the voter database across the state.

As part of the exercise, each elector will receive two pre-printed enumeration forms containing personal details, family information, and references linked to the 2002 electoral roll. During the house-to-house visit, BLOs will collect one signed copy of the completed form and return the second signed copy to the voter as an acknowledgement receipt.

To facilitate the process, the forms will be made available in Odia. Voters will also have the option to fill and submit the forms online through the official portal, voters.eci.gov.in, or via the ECINET mobile application.

The large-scale survey is expected to strengthen the electoral roll revision process and ensure greater accuracy in voter registration across Odisha.Show More
